Hello I'm Alex

This is a place for me to post my technical writings, project information, or anything that I feel the need to shout into the void.

I am a software engineer with a passion for technology and creativity. I can deliver effective software solutions or cobble together a fun hobby project. I mostly focus on network applications in cloud environments with Python, Javascript or Golang but I also have experience with computer vision, embedded systems and electronics. If I can leverage my skills on an interesting application then I'm there.

I enjoy movies of many genres: Sci-fi, horror, fantasy, and thrillers. From The Thing to Arrival you can find me enthralled by the screen, munching on popcorn.

I'm also a sucker for games of all kinds. Card games, board games, party games, video games you name it. I love a good round of Coup and have spent too many hours with Factorio. I even led a D&D campaign once with entertaining results.

Sitting down with a good book is something I really enjoy but admittedly do not do enough. I'll hastily recommend the eclectic love story This Is How You Lose the Time War, the supernatural steamboat thriller Fevre Dream, or the mindful meditation of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
